Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

1. Who we are

Prismio ("we", "our", "us") is operated by Laure Misuriello, an independent UX designer and developer based in Germany. Prismio provides two browser extensions: Prismio Paths for Chrome and Prismio Paths for Miro, as well as the website prismio.tools.

For any questions regarding this privacy policy, you can contact us at: hello@prismio.tools

2. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to all Prismio products and services, including:

  • The Prismio Paths Chrome extension: a browser extension that captures user interaction paths as screenshots and interaction metadata.
  • The Prismio Paths Miro extension: a Miro panel that imports and visualizes captured paths on a Miro board.
  • The prismio.tools website: the public landing page and documentation.

3. Data we collect and how

3.1 Chrome extension

When you use the Chrome extension to record a user path, the following data is captured locally on your device only:

  • Screenshots of the pages you visit during the recording session (JPEG format)
  • Click coordinates (as percentages of the viewport dimensions)
  • URLs and page titles of the visited pages
  • Timestamps of each interaction
  • Type of interaction: click, back navigation, key press (Enter/Escape), tab change, or URL change
  • A locally generated anonymous identifier (chrome_user_id) included in the exported ZIP file

All of this data is stored temporarily in your browser's memory during the recording session only. When you stop recording, the data is packaged into a ZIP file and downloaded to your device. No data is ever transmitted to Prismio servers. Once the ZIP file is generated, all data is cleared from memory.

3.2 Miro extension

The Miro extension reads the ZIP file you provide and creates visual elements (images, shapes, connectors) directly on your Miro board. All processing happens locally in your browser. No data from your ZIP file is transmitted to Prismio servers.

Data created on your Miro board is subject to Miro's own Privacy Policy.

3.3 Website (prismio.tools)

The Prismio website does not use cookies, tracking pixels, or analytics tools. We do not collect any personal data from visitors to prismio.tools.

The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance purposes, subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

4. What data we do NOT collect

To be explicitly clear, Prismio does not collect, store, or transmit:

  • Your name, email address, or any account information
  • The content of the websites you visit or record
  • Your screenshots or path data: these remain on your device
  • Payment information
  • Location data
  • Any data through cookies or tracking technologies

5. Third-party services

Prismio integrates with the following third-party platforms. When you use these integrations, their respective privacy policies apply:

  • Miro: content you create on Miro boards is governed by Miro's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Chrome: the Chrome extension uses Chrome's built-in APIs (screenshot capture, tab management, downloads), governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare Pages: the website is hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure, subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Fonts: the website and extensions load fonts from Google Fonts, which may involve Google receiving your IP address. See Google's Privacy Policy.

6. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

Since Prismio does not collect or process personal data on its own servers, no legal basis under GDPR Article 6 is required for Prismio's own operations at this time.

All data captured by the Chrome extension is processed locally on your device and is under your sole control. You decide what to do with the generated ZIP file.

If Prismio introduces server-side data processing in the future (such as user accounts or analytics), this policy will be updated to specify the applicable legal basis before any such processing begins.

7. Data retention

Prismio does not retain any user data on its servers, as no data is collected. Data captured during a recording session exists only in your browser's memory and is deleted as soon as the ZIP file is generated and downloaded.

The ZIP file downloaded to your device is entirely under your control. You can delete it at any time.

8. Your rights under GDPR

As a person located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right of access: the right to obtain confirmation of whether we process your personal data, and if so, to receive a copy of it.
  • Right to rectification: the right to have inaccurate personal data corrected.
  • Right to erasure: the right to request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
  • Right to restriction of processing: the right to request that we restrict the processing of your data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to data portability: the right to receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object: the right to object to processing of your personal data.

Since Prismio currently does not collect or store personal data, most of these rights have no practical application at this stage. However, if you believe we hold any data about you or have concerns about your privacy, please contact us at hello@prismio.tools and we will respond within 30 days.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In Germany, this is the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI).

9. Children's privacy

Prismio is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at hello@prismio.tools and we will take steps to delete it.

10. Security

Since Prismio does not transmit or store your data on external servers, the primary security responsibility lies with your own device and Miro workspace. We encourage you to follow good security practices when handling the ZIP files generated by the Chrome extension, as they may contain screenshots of sensitive information.

The Prismio website is served over HTTPS to ensure secure transmission.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time, particularly when new features are introduced that affect data collection. The date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last updated.

If we make significant changes, especially if we introduce any form of personal data collection, we will notify users through the extension interface or through a prominent notice on the website before the changes take effect.
